I am currently enrolled at Josai University as a student. My residential status (student visa) is going to expire soon. What should I do to get it renewed?

在留期限の3ヶ月前から更新手続きが可能です。本学では更新書類作成に関して、SpeedVisaを使用しております。こちらからログインし、まずは、国際課（清光会館4階）におこしください。
您可以在在留期限的三个月前开始办理更新手续。本校在更新文件的制作方面，使用SpeedVisa。请通过该链接登录。首先，请前往国际课（清光会馆4楼）。
You can start the application process 90 days prior the expiration date. Josai University uses SpeedVisa system to prepare the necessary application documents. Log-in from the site and come to the International Relations Office (4th Floor on Seiko-kaikan bldg.) （https://s-visa.com/signin?redirect=/dashboard ）

I got accepted to Josai University. However, my residence card (zairyuu card) is going to expire before I enroll in Josai. What should I do in order to get it renewed?

入学前の3/1～5/31までに在留期限を迎える学生に関しては、本学を受け入れ教育機関として更新申請を行いますので、国際課までご連絡ください。それ以前に在留期限を迎える学生に関しては、現在の所属先で在留更新を行ってください。
如果您是在本学年3月1日至5月31日之间，在留期限到期的留学生，本校将作为接收教育机构为您办理在留期间更新申请。请联系国际课。如果您在此日期之前在留期限到期，请在您当前的学校办理更新手续。
If the expiration date of the student visa status is between March 1st and May 31st Josai University will help you with the applications as the accepting institution. Please contact the International Relations Division(国際課) at Josai University. In case the expiration date is before March 1st you are asked to proceed with the applications through the institution you are currently enrolled at.
入学前の3/1～5/31までに在留期限を迎える学生に関しては、本学を受け入れ教育機関として更新申請を行いますので、国際課までご連絡ください。それ以前に在留期限を迎える学生に関しては、現在の所属先で在留更新を行ってください。
如果您是在本学年3月1日至5月31日之间，在留期限到期的留学生，本校将作为接收教育机构为您办理在留期间更新申请。请联系国际课。如果您在此日期之前在留期限到期，请在您当前的学校办理更新手续。
If the expiration date of the student visa status is between March 1st and May 31st Josai University will help you with the applications as the accepting institution. この届出は実際に事実が発生したのち～14日以内の手続きが必要で、インターネットでも手続きが可能です。

You must submit a “Notification of the Accepting Organization” to the Immigration Service Agency within 14 days after the change in the student status has occurred. This can also be done online.

I am planning to take a temporary absence from the university. Can I still stay in Japan during that period?
A:
休学する場合は、「留学」の在留資格で日本に滞在し続けることはできません。速やかに出国し、出国時空港で在留カードを返納してください。
※入院など「正当な理由」と入管に認められた場合のみ日本に滞在することができますが、学費が支払えない等お金に関わる事情は正当な理由とはなりません。休学を予定している学生は、速やかに所属学部と国際部国際課にご連絡ください。
如果您休学，您将无法以“留学”的在留资格继续在日本停留。休学后，您需要尽快离开日本，并在出国时在机场归还在留卡。
※只有在入管认定为“正当理由”的情况下，您可以继续在日本停留，例如因病住院等情况。但因为学费未支付等财务问题不能作为正当理由。打算休学的同学，请尽快与所在学部和国际部国际课联系。
If you take a temporary absence from the university, you cannot continue to stay in Japan under the "student" visa status. You must promptly leave Japan and return your residence card to the Immigrations at the airport when departing.
Note: ※You may be allowed to stay in Japan under “legitimate circumstances” such as being hospitalized. However, not being able to pay the tuition or any other financial issues cannot be counted as “legitimate reasons/circumstances”. International students who plan to take a temporary absence from the university should promptly contact their Faculty’s Office and the International Relations Division.
休学する場合は、「留学」の在留資格で日本に滞在し続けることはできません。速やかに出国し、出国時空港で在留カードを返納してください。
※入院など「正当な理由」と入管に認められた場合のみ日本に滞在することができますが、学費が支払えない等お金に関わる事情は正当な理由とはなりません。休学を予定している学生は、速やかに所属学部と国際部国際課にご連絡ください。

For students who enrolled in April, the information is typically provided around May. And, for students who enrolled in October, the information is usually provided around November via the university website and JU Navi. Since there are conditions for the applications, please make sure to confirm the application guideline based on your enrollment and make sure to meet the deadlines set by the guidelines.

I am planning to return to my home country for the holidays or travel abroad. Do I need to notify the university?

学部・国際部国際課にて申請が必要です。事務室までおこしください。なお、留学生が日本を出国している最中に、入管から留学生に関する問い合わせが入ることがあります。大学に届け出を出さずに、出国することで、留学生の日本在留にリスクが生じますので、必ず届け出をだしてください。
需要向所在学部和国际部国际课提交申请。请到所在的事务办公室办理。此外，留学生在出国期间，入管可能会向学校询问有关留学生的情况。如果未向学校报告并擅自出国，可能会影响到留学生活，因此请务必提前向学校报告。
You must submit a notification to your Faculty’s Office and the International Relations Division. Please come to the administrative offices to complete the necessary paperwork. Please note, that while you are abroad the Immigration Service Agency might contact the university about your current status and whereabouts. If you leave Japan without notifying the above-mentioned offices you may risk your current residential status in Japan. Therefore, please be sure to submit the notification.
